Investigating the Causes, Treatments and Prevention of Human Health Problems

The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (EPH) has grown over the past few decades into one of the largest basic science departments in the University of Maryland School of BOB体育.

EPH makes significant contributions to the teaching mission at the School of BOB体育 and brings in annual research dollars that, on average, represent approximately nine percent of all NIH funding at the School of BOB体育.

Our research strengths are reflected in the substantial amount of direct research funding that we receive each year. Our specialties deal with the causes, distribution, prevention, and control of disease.

The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health is proud to celebrate its 190th anniversary this year. We are grateful to all our alumni who have contributed to our history and achievements. In honor of the department's 190th anniversary, we have set a goal to raise $200,000 on our celebration.
